Caffe Classico

Caffe Classico is a restaurant in Louisville that I've driven past maybe one thousand times and I never stopped until recently.  You know why I didn't stop?  Take a look:

Does that look appealing to you?

The place is the color of concrete.  No curtains or window treatments in sight.  Hard, non-cushioned chairs.  Caffe Classico has zero sex appeal from the street.

Well, they make up for it with the food:

Salad with cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, avocado, mozzarella, and that HUGE piece of salmon

This is a classic don't-judge-a-book-by-its-cover story because I had a really nice meal and experience at Caffe Classico.  Despite the place not having a single pillow, cushion, rug, or anything soft, the atmosphere was comfortable and there was a guy strumming a guitar in the corner.  The service was great, the food was obviously great, and I left a happy camper.  It's a little pricey so I recommend it for a date night.  Check out their website here.  All they need to do is slap some paint on the exterior and maybe they would get more customers!

  1. Is that the one right across the street from the Grape Leaf? I agree, definitely not an appealing place from the outside, but I will have to give it a try :)
