Let's Go Krogering

The newest trend in my life is to do a little grocery shopping during my lunch break. There is a Kroger a couple of miles away from my office and if I can knock out that errand during low traffic times then it's great.

Today's traffic was...slower than usual. REMIND ME TO NEVER AGAIN TO GO TO KROGER ON SENIOR DISCOUNT DAY. Ok, so it realy wasn't that bad, but still. There was lots of slow moving in the aisles (on their part) and sweet smiles (on both parts). The geriatric crowd comes in packs to shop. They pick up their husband, their girlfriend, their daughter, whoever, but it is an event! The woman who rang up my purchases told me I had a little while to go before I got the senior discount. Yes, that's true, and she probably thought I was 15. Don't hate me cause I look like a teenager.

Anyway, I got some loot. I've been craving roasted vegetables, so I got a lot of broccoli, asparagus, and some potatoes as well. That might be dinner tonight over a bed of brown rice or quinoa.

Other purchases:
Greek yogurt (Fage, not Kroger's AWFUL Greek yogurt, if you could call it that)
Green tea (beverage of choice in the AM)
Barbeque Sauce (one blogger dips her roasted veggies in barbeque sauce and it looks excellent)
Pears
Apples
Sprouts
Deli turkey
Popcorn
Almond milk (Almond Breeze unsweetened vanilla)
Spinach (for Green Monsters)
Peanuts (to add on top of stir fry dishes, or roasted vegetables?)
Whole wheat tortillas
Hummus (obviously not Whole Foods hummus, which is tragic, but I'll make do)
Quaker Oatmeal Squares cereal (my favorite cereal ever, and it was the last box)

Overall, the trip was a success. I brought the perishables inside and put them in our office fridge.

Knocking out errands during work rocks!
