Good Things + The Bourbon Chase!

Despite the early sunrises this time of year, it's been extra hard lately to drag my butt out of bed for a morning workout. I yawn so much at work that my coworkers tell me to stop (in a nice way)! I drink three mugs of green tea daily and I get AT LEAST 8 hours of sleep a night, but I still feel like a zombie sometimes. However, I think I would rather be sleeping like I am and feeling tired than be an insomniac. Let's move on to some happy things!

1. For the ladies: Target has NEON colored sports bras right now. I recently scooped up a neon pink one and I can't wait to wear it to yoga tonight!

2. I've been getting to yoga (Bikram) three times a week. Classes tend to not be as crowded during the summer (people go on vacation, people don't want to go into a hot room when it's hot outside, etc) and I am a person who really likes personal space, so if I have more room to spread out and really do my thing, then sign me up.

3. Two weekends ago I went to BONNAROO! Bonnaroo is a four day music festival in Manchester, Tennessee that's been going on for 10 years. It is your new age Woodstock: tie dye, dreadlocks, people camping out in the heat, fabulous music, etc. Although I did NOT camp out, I enjoyed several concerts:

Ray LaMontagne
Atmosphere (briefly)
My Morning Jacket
The Black Keys
Eminem
The String Cheese Incident
Girl Talk (briefly)

Here's a picture from String Cheese:

And finally....

4. My most exciting announcement of all: This October I am doing a very exciting race called The Bourbon Chase! It is a 200 mile relay race that takes place through bourbon and horse country here in Kentucky. I am on a team of 12 and we are running for the American Lung Association. Because they are sponsoring us, we have to raise $5,000 dollars and I need your help! Please visit this link if you are willing to make a small $10 donation to our team. Our team name is "This One and One More."

Thanks for your support!

  1. That's awesome, about the concert BUT about the Bourbon Chase as well! I ran last year! My picture is up on the front of their website! We're the ones in Halloween costumes! I'm wearing the womens Captain America outfit! Our team was Harp Enterprises!

It is such a great time! The most fun I've ever had running! I had the 12th leg and ran twice in the dark! You'll love it!!! Maybe I'll see ya there!?
